Aug 2009 Meeting Wrap up!

I NEED PHOTOS!! I can't believe I forgot to take photos of the projects last night!! Please please send me a picture of what you brought to book club!

I knew it had to be a full moon last night! We were missing 13 members! So weird! But it was still very fun.

Before I forget!! THE DATE OF THE CROP IS Sept 6th. 12 noon-5pm, at Pink Pineapple. I KNOW IT IS LABOR DAY WEEKEND. SO SORRY FOR THOSE OF YOU GOING OUT OF TOWN... IT WAS THE ONLY DAY AVAILABLE. I will prepare a bonus make and take so I need a count. LEAVE A COMMENT HERE IF YOU ARE COMING. Please bring your fav scrapbooking snack to share.

Here are the kits I gave out. soooo cute stuff!! I also added a little bonus adorable birdie clip that I found in Solana Beach at Solo, one of my fav places for inspiration!

The kit was all Fancy Pants! Mixed media book. love love love it! Awesome cards and paper and note cards. Threw some flowers in there as well as some orange and green centers I picked up in LA. I am very excited to get crafting!

~*~*~*~*~HOMEWORK!!!*~*~*~*~*~

Next meeting I will be bringing the Canon Printers with me as well as the 3x3 mini book kits that I ordered for us. They are super cute! I put one together as a sample. BELOW So here is what you need to do ... send me 12 photos for the inside and 1 bfor the outside. The outside photo CAN cover the entire front and back of the book. meaning I can resize it to look like it does below, or you can send me a panoramic photo or something else creative that will span the entire front and back. If this does not make sense, let me know.
IF YOU ALSO PROVIDE ME WITH A TITLE. I CAN ADD IT TO THE COVER AND SPINE FOR YOU. :) SUPER CUTE!

There is a way to add text into the books but you will be doing this by hand. (Hence the handwritting book :)) I will have the books printed and ready for us to assemble and decorate. SO EMAIL ME YOUR PHOTOS!!! 12 for the inside and 1 for the outside.

super cute project for next time!!!

And here is our lovely Kat who's Black white and craft project was picked 3 times! She won a $50 gift card for Pink! Soooo cool! She brought her beautiful creation to share so I will post photos when she emails them to me.

What do independent women do? We Scrap!!!

This is the first month of new cycle and we had some new gals join us! It is always fun to have fresh faces and ideas join our group. So we started a new book, "The Scrapbooker's Handwritting Workshop by Crystal Jeffrey Rieger. She was going to send us a note and a make and take but got caught up at a teaching gig and didnt make the mail in time... so she is hopefully going to send something before our next meeting.. We got right into the book and started practicing. It was so fun to see how Crystal has disected every aspect of writing! The book is amazingly detailed and definitely worth it!

Each month we bring projects that we have created and share them. Here is some of the inspiration that was shared!

Kat creates a 1 year book for all the kids in her family. what an adorable baby!

Each member is doing a 6x6 layout of themself for a banner that I am working on that will be displayed in the store.

Some wonderful covered journals
We had such a good time joking about this layout. Ruth took Becky's wedding photo and embellished it. It was so cute! Becky was embarrased but I still think she is so lucky to have such a crafty mom!

this canvas was inspired by the kit last month which contained some metal flowers and flourishes, beads and a huge stick pin!

Danette finished altering her glue glider pro and brought it to share. Love the finished project!

Teri couldnt get enough of blinging and altering stuff so she went to town on her Bind it All!

This is an adorable picture of Jennifer, her contribution to the banner in progress. I love how she used the zipper from a couple of kits ago to create a border!

This is Elena's Canvas from an Emily Falconbridge class that she took at Pink. (ok, I am Elena and it is too weird to write in 3rd person!!) It's my canvas and it makes me smile!

Jen made this amazing canvas inspired by the metal flower flourishes in the kit and we all just about died it was so amazing! She used metal from the hardware store, too scissors to it and went to town. She did warn us all that the edges could cut off a finger!

It was Kat and Brenda's B-days. Jennifer and Lisa brough birthday cupcakes to celebrate the occasion!
This is a photo when I dropped Kat off at her house, well, she dropped me off at her house to get my car, oh whatever, anyway, i made her this little altered doll and she said she loved it and I was thrilled.

Amazing Women...

This was a great meeting with Lorene Yost as our guest! She brought lots of fun energy and inspiration to this wonderful group of ladies!
We altered Glue Glider Pros and it was super fun to see all the different styles we have in the group!

Glue Glider Angels!

Birgitte's gun. not totally finished. modpodge, tissue paper and stamps!

Teri's gun. she squirted big drop of stickles on the gun then pushed a gem in the middle to get a perfect ring of sparkles around it!

having a brain fart on whoes this is. I know I know but I can't think of it. so cute tho! love the girl!

This was also swap month. on the last month of each 3 month cycle, we do a swap, this time was a coin envelope embellished and filled with embellies!
Krystals amazing ribbon hedgehog envelopes
can't remember who did these! I have to get better at taking the pictures with the peeps! and no one signed theirs. we have to sign from now on ladies!!

I Know the bags came from Danette. she said she had too much fun making these gifts for everyone!

I knwo these were Krysties. They have cool blue wings on them but it is a little hard to tell...
these were mine. three of them took a swim in my pool. long story...
Kat's she went to town with the heat embossing.
Darn, Im so sorry girls! if you tell me which is yours Iwill add your name! sorry!
Each month we share something we have created, either with the kit or just something we made. Here are some photos of our lovely works of heart!

Christine made this adorable purse and then gave it to me as a gift. There was even a goody inside and i loved it!
Jodi's cute baseball glove book. the paint on it made it look like leather!
I asked for 6x6 pages of each member to make a cool banner to hang in the crop room. This is Jen's
And here is Becky's page for the banner. cute how the letters hang off the bottom!
Lisa always amazes us with her creativity. this is her altered vintage toaster. complete with photo toast!

Ruth did a cute book all about sisters. with vintage photos!
Krystal did a fantastic page and even sewed rosettes from the hankerchief that I wrapped the kits in a few months ago.
Brenda has gone totally into Wall Art mode. She has been making the most amazing framed pieces!

Nancy did a cute book about her doll house tea party. She won the doll house at a Scrapbook Royalty event!
Debby made a mini wall hanging that was just adorable
Gloria's
button bird house is on display at Pink right now!
sally brought her doll from a doll swap we did. It was inspirational!
